Fidget Spinners and toys have been around for a while now…

Certainly Fidget toys and spinners have been around for a long time. But 2017 was the year of the Fidget Spinner and toys!

It started with crude and poorly done fidget spinners that were generally made with plastic with horrible bearings costing $20-$30 but as competition and innovation took hold, many more nicer and cooler fidget spinners came about. And what was nice was that prices stayed very reasonable.

For sure, there were nicer fidget spinners and toys far before 2017, but it was a more niche with spinners and toys made by hand by small fabrication companies. The prices and accessibility was not an option for most people. Most people can’t justify spending hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars a spinner or a toy. But these high level toys became inspirations for mass manufacturers overseas. Some of these manufacturers even outright copied these toys as well and sold at fraction of the original model.

With the fidget spinner rage in full force, more and more companies tried to catch the wave and cash in. You could find fidget spinners pretty much anywhere and for throw away prices. Capitalism was in full force!

With increased competition came innovation and came bizarre but many ways cool fidget toys. Us gadgeters were in heaven.

But alas, fidget spinner fad has cooled down as almost as suddenly as it started. As irrational as it was in regards to the wild popularity of the fidget spinners, it did make fidget spinners and toys more mainstream. There are definite needs for toys like these. I derive many benefits from its ability to keep me focused. Hopefully many others have had similar experiences.

Now…with the fad behind us, we now benefit from a more mature fidget toys world and many more options including those that sometimes blow my mind and delight the inner gadget freak in me.
